Yeah. I should've read this long, long ago instead of picking up the first collection today.

She doesn't just fight ninjas. This city appears to have an entire youth subculture of thugs who wear ninjas costumes all the time, including when they play basketball. There's a ninja in prison, and his ninja costume is black and white stripes, and on the wall of his cell there's a pin-up of a ninja girl in a bikini. Ninjas who say things like "Is that Street Angel, dog?" Ninjas who "forget" to wear their name tags, even though each replacement name tag costs the mad scientist $4.50!

And this is all just in the first issue of the series. The second issue has an Irish spaceman with an Australian accent ("I was going to be Ireland's first man in space. Australian was deemed friendliest language on earth, so I became fluent." His name is CosMick), and Captain Cortez and his conquistador hordes as a bunch of pirates who call each other "Senor Matey!" and such.

There's a panel in the first issue of a ninja standing with his arms crossed, with the caption, "Faster than the human eye, Gary unfolds his arms, takes out his sword, slices through Roger's neck from side to side, wipes the little bit of blood from his sword that had time to collect there, sheathes his sword and resumes his position near Dr. Pangea." That's it. That's the action scene.

I... I think I'm in love.
